Alcohol at Mormon Weddings PDF Print E-mail

I was recently at a wedding where the bride was born a Mormon and the groom had recently converted. I was surprised to see alcohol served. I know that alcohol is forbidden in Mormonism. Were they being courteous to non-Mormon guests? This is confusing because it is forbidden either way. I am thinking you have an explanation or thoughts and opinions.

1. Alcohol at Mormon Weddings
At personal things like weddings - that is entirely up to the family hosting the event. To be honest - in all the years I have gone to weddings I have very rarely seen alcohol served at a wedding. Obviously the church would not encourage it - however those kind of decisions are left up to the individual as those are hosted, paid for, arranged by, etc - all by individuals.

if the wedding was held within church premises then shouldn't be allowed to have alcohol, but if the wedding was held else where then up to the family.
