Hi, I was recently baptized about 3mths ago. I am very blessed to be apart of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints & I hunger for more knowledge and basically the life of a Mormon. Unfortunately, I live in a town where I'm considered "crazy" for wanting to be Mormon. My friends, family, and co-workers shun me daily. I've decided to try to finish school early to move to Utah, because I feel like I'd be more accepted there. I've prayed about it & feel that this is the right thing to do. Is there any advice that you can give me about moving?

1. Lots of opportunities all over
You might want to respond to it to let people know how old you are, what part of the country you live in, etc. as some of the recommendations might be age-related or location-related.

For example, if you are of college age there are lots of opportunities in Utah to meet other members. Also - you don't have to go to Utah to be among other Latter-day Saints. For example, at almost any university the Church has an Institute program for LDS college-age students. Also - in some of the major cities there are Young Single Adult wards where you can meet lots of fellow YSAs.

For example, I live in the Seattle area with my family. There are 30 stakes in the Puget Sound area with strong, vibrant LDS wards. This is also true for many different parts of the U.S. - esp. those in the Western states.

Anyway - good luck. Happy to help more if I can.

Well I am a 23yr old single parent. My son will be six this year. We both live in South Texas. I've thought of leaving for school, but like I had mentioned, I'm going to try to finish in my hometown prior to moving. It's great to hear that there are more LDS around the US. I just feel so out of place where I'm from & I know moving will be beneficial for me & my son.

3. Moving to Utah
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints official proscribes that it's members should strive to grown the stakes of zion in there local areas.

As someone from a family (my father was a single Dad as well) that almost ostracized me for my faith I know you pain. I became less active and had the lord not guided me to move from my home state of Massachusetts to North Carolina I would probably not be a member today.

Seek the guidance of the Holy Ghost and Heavenly Father during this time, stay true to the covenants you made at the baptismal fount, and know that the Holy Ghost testified to you that this the Christ's True Church and is lead by a Living Prophet.

No one can ever take that from you EVER!!

If the spirit guides you to move to another State then follow that guidance though you can also seek guidance from your Stake leadership and your Bishop as well!
