2. Where to receive help
The person you should ultimately turn for help is Our Heavenly Father. Inspired church leaders can be instruments in the hands of God to provide counsel and guidance. Friends can also be a source of help.

Ultimately we need to use the help that Heavenly Father provides for us and is at our disposal for making decisions. Our Heavenly Father has also provided the Light of Christ and the Holy Ghost to help us.

So first we gather the information available to us. Then we sift through it with the help and tools that God has given us. We make a decision and then we take that decision to Heavenly Father in prayer asking if this decision is right or not. We can then receive our answers from God. Then we need to follow through on that answer.

Here is a scripture that was given to Oliver Cowdery when he tried to translate the Book of Mormon:

D&C 9:7-9
7 Behold, you have not understood; you have supposed that I would give it unto you, when you took no thought save it was to ask me.
8 But, behold, I say unto you, that you must study it out in your mind; then you must ask me if it be right, and if it is right I will cause that your bosom shall burn within you; therefore, you shall feel that it is right.
9 But if it be not right you shall have no such feelings, but you shall have a stupor of thought that shall cause you to forget the thing which is wrong; therefore, you cannot write that which is sacred save it be given you from me.

We use these same principles to get our own answers to prayers. The important thing is doing what Heavenly Father wants us to do - not what we, our parents/family, or our friends want us to do.

In the end it is our decision and our responsibility and we take responsibility for our decisions.
