Yes, we are Christians. The formal name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Maybe it might be appropriate to call us "New Testament Christians" as opposed to "Creedian Christians". This is based on the fact that we follow the teachings in the Bible - esp New Testament. And we reject the teachings from the various Creeds (Nicene, Athanasian, etc.) that are the basis for most religions that espouse to be Christians. 
 
We believe in Jesus Christ. He is our Savior and Redeemer. He is the Mediator between us and God. He suffered and died for our sins. Only through Jesus can we be saved. We follow His teachings and take upon us His name. We are followers of Jesus Christ. We follow His example. We do everything we can to live a pure and Christlike life be it through obedience to His commandments and through service to our fellow man. We absolutely are Christians.

We know that we are Christians because we know that Jesus is the Christ the Only Begotten Son of God in the flesh. We know that Christ is a member of the Godhead. We believe that Christ is our savior who atoned for our sins and resurrected to provided us with the gift of one day having our bodies reunited with our spirit after we pass. this time to never be separated again.  
 
We are Christians because we know that Christ is our Lord and savior, I know of no other proper definition of Christian.  
 
Now I agree Latter-day Saints do have different doctrine but so does ever denomination of Christendom.  
 
It's our common faith in Christ, that makes us Christians, the doctrine is simply opinions on the interpretation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  
 
I to this day fail to see how a person that loves Christ, can see a fellow disciple of Christ and attack there faith in Christ by saying they are not Christian because we believe in different doctrine.  
 
These anti-christs do the opposite of what Christ teaches in Mark 9:38 - 40. When the Apostles told Christ they stopped a man from casting out devils in the name of Jesus Christ because they did not follow the Apostles, Christ rebuked them and said "Forbid him not". Denomination is a matter of interpretation and opinion of the Gospel, the only thing that really matters is our relationship with Jesus Christ, Christ does not care if you are Mormon, Catholic, Protestant, Baptist, Lutheran, or Jehovah's Witness.  
 
What Christ cares about is are you following his commandments and loving your each other like he loves you (John 13:34)?

Why do Mormons state and believe the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith and Brigham Young say Jesus is the son on Adam?? They clearly are wrong, only the bible speaks the truth.

Where ever you got you info about Mormons believing that Jesus is the son of Adam is wrong. We do not believe that. The Adam-God theory has been thrown around for years. The Church has repudiated it.
