The Temple is Sacred
I am a convert to the church, and the only member as well. I am single right now, but as you have, have thought about my wedding day. It does sadden me that my parent's will not be able to be in the Temple as I am sealed to my husband for time and all eternity, but I am okay with it now. The work that is done in the Temple is very sacred, and requires the utmost obeidence to the laws and ordinances of the gospel. The Temple reads above each entry door as follows: Holiness to the Lord. The House of the Lord. Since this is His house, we all need to qualify to enter in it, even members of the church. We must be living our lives in complete harmony with the teachings of Jesus Christ, then when in the Temple, more covenants are made with the Lord, so we need to be prepared for them. Exchanging of the weddings rings is not part of the marriage ceremony in the Temple, so I am going to have that outside the Temple for my family, and probably exchange vows or words with my husband, and explain to my family the importance it is to us to have been Sealed in a Temple. I hope this has helped you.
