Why doesn't the Book of Mormon convince Jews about Christ? PDF Print E-mail

The Title Page of the Book of Mormon says: "And also to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God, manifesting himself unto all nations".  If this is true, then why hasn't it convinced the Jews that Jesus is the Messiah [Christ in Greek], the Eternal God?

I've personally met a number of Jews that have been convinced of the truth of Christ through the Book of Mormon, but I'd definitely agree that they are a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of the total number of Jews. :)

My understanding is that the Church does not currently proselyte to Jews as a people. For example, the Book of Mormon is not publicly available in Hebrew and we do not send missionaries to Israel currently.

See Luke 13 and 1 Nephi 13:42. The time will come when we do preach to them, but that time hasn't arrived yet.
